Bibliography

Jezzine (3866090).jpg

Under the same Moon has been described as both a meticulously researched, well-constructed piece of history, and a portrait of a marriage interrupted by war, but continued by correspondence. Due to its hybrid nature, written in narrative form, it straddles non-fiction and fiction, yet decidedly and substantially favours the former. The characters are real, the letter extracts are genuine, the official battalion history, the Australian War Memorial and National Archive of Australia archives and official histories are genuine sources utilised within the framework of story, as are cable extracts with regard to top brass military and politicians.

Many cables and letters, top secret at the time, are touched upon in the narrative, as are newspaper reports. Edited text of some of the more significant cables, and the text of the newspaper reports, are reproduced here.

A full bibliography of all source material used for the book, and for the companion volume I’ll Walk Beside You, is also provided here.
